The complaint alleges that during the Class Period defendants made false and misleading statements and/or allegedly failed to disclose that Grupo Televisa executives engaged in an unlawful bribery scheme involving Fédération Internationale de Football Association (“FIFA”) executives; discovery of the foregoing conduct would likely subject Grupo Televisa to heightened regulatory scrutiny; and Grupo Televisa lacked effective internal controls over financial reporting.

On November 14, 2017, one former executive of the sports marketing company Torneos y Competencias SA testified that several companies—including Grupo Televisa—had paid bribes in order to secure media rights for soccer tournaments.

Following this news, NYSE:TV fell $0.48, or 2.4%, to close at $19.50 on November 14, 2017.

On January 26, 2018, the Company revealed that its Audit Committee had determined that certain material weaknesses in the Company’s internal control over financial reporting existed as of December 31, 2016.
