On April 11, 2018, a report published by Kerrisdale Capital stated that QuinStreet's revenue growth is a "sham" and mainly the result of "malware redirects [and] bogus leads from web surfers trying to score [online currency.]"

Following this news, NASDAQ: QNST fell $2.18 per share or over 17% to close at $10.14 per share on April 11, 2018.
